Easter Weekend

We have had a great Easter weekend! Cody had four days off for Easter I'm not really sure why, but we will take it! So, we decided to do a few things while the weather was nice and while we had the time. On Friday we went to Hershey, Pennsylvania to see Hershey Chocolate World. Ok, I'll be the first to admit it, I was like the rest of the little kids there. It was so much fun! The only bad thing was it was packed. We wanted to do two things while we were there which was the tour and create your own chocolate, but we were only able to do the tour. The create your own chocolate station was sold out for four hours and lets be honest nobody has time for that.

This sign says Welcome to Hershey "The Sweetest Place on Earth"

When we were driving through Hershey they had the cutest street names this one says Chocolate Ave

This one says Cocoa Ave

These were huge! The Hersheys Chocolate Bar was heavy

Waiting in line for the ChocolateTour

We rode these cute little cars

They had these cute little cows singing a very catchy tune that we had stuck in our head the rest of the day.

We had to take a picture with Hershey himself!

After we went to Hershery Chocolate World we were only about 30 mins away from Lancaster which is Amish country here in Pennsylvania and it was so cool to drive around and see all the Amish people.

We saw several of these little horse and buggies it was crazy! We also saw kids in their Amish attire playing outside and riding bikes and scooters. I still haven't figured out Amish people yet because we saw an Amish family that was true Amish and then we saw another Amish family wearing their attire but using electricity.... hmmm beats me.

Saturday was another beautiful day so Cody and I decided to check out a frisbee golf course here and the closest one was in the city about 45 mins away. Let me tell you that course is not for leisure playing. It was intense! We were literally in the woods throwing frisbee's. Luckily we didn't loose any discs.

Easter Sunday was another good day for us. It was hard to be away from family but we spent it with our ward family! We went to the park near by had dinner and played some sand volleyball. We had a great weekend and glad we spent time together before finals week!

Thursday Night Fun!

This past week Cody and I were getting ready to have dinner when Cody got a phone call from some really good friends of ours in our ward. The conversation first started out talking about their calling and ended with 2 tickets to a Phillies game! Say what?! Free tickets to a Phillies game?! Sure, I guess.... :) Cody and I talked about going to a Phillies game serval times, but never really looked at tickets. We both aren't huge into baseball so I guess it never sounded that appealing until our friends had some tickets they got from the company they are working for and had two extra ones. We couldn't say no. I am so glad we didn't say no because it was one of my favorite sports games we have been to since we've been out here! The weather was perfect and it was with great company so that was even better.

Small world when it comes to these friends of ours... We are actually related to them and didn't know it until just a few months ago! Good thing we like them :)

We had some pretty good seats and saw a lot of balls fly into the stands!

Cody and I finally got a normal picture together... Oh wait, only one though....

We even own Phillies jerseys so it was perfect time to wear them :)

Thanks Chris and Morgan for the invite we had a blast!

Spring Break

Ok, so Spring Break for Cody may have been a month ago.... I don't have any excuses for not blogging except laziness took over and I just didn't want to. Which I am regretting now because as I upload these pictures I don't have any cool captions to share with them because I can't remember all the details and I don't want to make up stories! But, we had an absolute blast and have been to more places in one week than we ever have.

First, Cody and I went to Ocean City, NJ and that was fun, but we went at the wrong time apparently because it was a ghost town. We found out later that summer is the best time to go and so we are going to try that one again this summer before we leave. It was still fun to go and see what the board walk, and shore looked like!

Our next stop wasn't actually planned but since we got back so early from Ocean City we thought we would stop and see Valley Forge since it was close to our way home.

There were so many things there but it was starting to get dark and my iphone just doesn't take the best pictures so this is all I got.

Our next place we went to during Spring Break was a 76ers game! That was pretty cool since I've never been to an NBA game. I know they aren't the best, but tickets were ridiculously cheap and we couldn't pass it up! We had seats clear up in the nose bleed section but right before the game we moved down close to court side seats since no one was sitting there and enjoyed the game a little closer.

Our last and final day of Spring Break we went to DC and that was probably the best part! We had so much fun there because there is so much to do. We went with some friends to the DC Temple and then went to see all the cool sites. We started our day pretty early so that we could fit it all in one day but we still didn't even see close to all the things we wanted to. It was still a fun day and I would definitely go back. As we were driving back we were all talking about the day and realized that we were in four states in one day! Starting in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia. Now I can cross those states off of my places to go... :)

The DC Temple was absolutely beautiful!

Stopped to a few Museums

The White House

Lincoln Memorial

Ok so I love TLC it's my favorite station to watch and they have this show on there called "DC Cupcakes" that I like and so I had to go and check it out since we were there! We showed up around 8:30p.m. and they were closing at 9 and there was a line clear out the door and around the block. It was nuts! We wanted to grab a cupcake but didn't feel it was worth standing in line for so I settled for a picture outside of the building instead. :)

We have had a lot of fun while being out here on the east coast and we still have a few more places planned we will keep you updated!
