Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Cody! Last Wednesday was Cody's 22nd birthday and lets just say it probably wasn't his favorite birthday because we were in class ALL day long. I wanted to do a few things to make the day special so I was going to make breakfast, but then I realized he doesn't eat a huge breakfast before 9a.m so that would be a waste. I also wanted to decorate the house but then I decided to toss that idea out because he isn't 5 so we had muffins instead and no decorations. We did have most of Cody's family come over on his birthday and share his "favorites" and we had a pretty good turn out since half of the Fowlers are in Rexburg. P.S. I forgot to get some candles so we had to use what we had around the house and he got to blow this big ol honker out instead. We are so domestic!

If any of you know Cody he loves cereal. I don' think I know anyone that loves cereal as much as him! So for a birthday gift, from his parents, he got a few boxes of his favorite cereal. He was pretty excited :)
!
Cody has been begging me for a few things for awhile now and a golf set has been one of them. So I decided a golf set would be the birthday present this year. I didn't even try to pick it out so I let him do that one on his own.

Tryin' out the new clubs! He looks official.
Thanks everyone for coming to celebrate Cody's birthday!

Arizona and Easter

The Fowler family had the opportunity to go to Arizona and can I just say that was a much needed break after a busy semester. We got on a plane the day after finals and were on our way to the wonderful state of sunshine and palm trees for Jared and Chelsea's wedding. It was perfect weather the whole time we were there and while we were there it snowed here in Idaho. Perfect timing? I think so!
We went to the Zoo, which was so fun, thanks to Troy and Carrie
We saw some lions and started quoting Lion King the rest of the day!
Cute picture of Mitchell and the girls
Katelyn and Kylie and their fearless act of jumping out of a tree
And the names some people call animals......
We had to take a picture of this! It says Dragon Bridge in Slovenia

Ok, so I'm not the best picture-taker and that's one thing I wish I was better at so I don't have anymore pictures and no pictures of the wedding, but it was a fun trip and I am so glad we were all able to go! The next day was Easter and that is always something we look forward to. Every year my mom and aunts put money and candy into easter eggs and the adults do an easter egg hunt. There is also this weird thing that happens every year which seems to be the newly weds that always win and no one does anything to let it happen, it just does. So this year, since Cody and I were the newly weds, we made out like bandits with the most cash and got a few prizes. Next year we might be so lucky so we definitely enjoyed it while we had the chance.

Cody Showin' off our money! Hopefully Hayden doesn't steal it....
Hayden and his loot

Cade was clearly too concerned about the candy inside to want to find anymore eggs
The mad dash out the door to find those eggs!
Thanks Mom, Aunt Connie, and Aunt Kay for a great Easter!

We survived!

This post is long over due, but I figured people are still interested to hear about our lives even when it's in the past. From the title of my post you can see Cody and I survived our winter semester! For some reason that semster was not the best one for Cody and I. Cody had to take a lot of hard classes like Chemistry and Anat and Phys and I had to take a lot of foundation classes that required a lot of busy work. I would take my schedule any day over Cody's, so I should count my blessings. We didn't have a whole lot going on that semester besides work and school, but we did get a new calling and we were called in the primary! We teach the Valient 9 kids and they know a lot. They keep us very entertained and they make sure to remind us when we owe them treats, which seems like every Sunday. One time we played this game in class and whoever got all the answers right Cody said that they could have a king size candy bar and they haven't missed a Sunday to remind us we still owe them candy bars.  They have remembered this clear back in February and it is now May. The funny thing is when we ask them what we learned last Sunday they have a harder time remembering, so it's funny to see what a kid really cares about at this point in their lives. We are thankful for the calling and the many blessings it brings. I am grateful for this semester and all the things we have experienced. I am even more grateful Cody and I survived!
